Thank you to everyone from APASA, BSU, HAPA International Club, LASA, and Middle Eastern Club for your help in publicizing and staffing the Bone Marrow Donor Drive. We set a new record for Saint Mary's of 70 people registered in a single drive! Keep your eye out in the spring for the possibility of another drive. It's only through all of your support that amazing, potentially life saving things like this can occur. Here are some pics. Be patient and we may have some things from Friendship games in the near future...
So last weekend Jessica, Ryan and Tim went to Westborough Park in South San Francisco to check out the Friendship Games NorCal picnic. There were tons of people there repping various schools like San Jose State, San Francisco State, CSU East Bay (the TriForce!) CSU Fullerton (they drove all the way up from SoCal!), Univ. of Pacific, Cal Poly-Pomona, and UC Davis (sorry if anyone was missed, there were so many people there we didn't get the chance to meet everyone). We ate, talked, played icebreakers (Ryan learned how to play Ninja) and generally made connections. Check out the Triforce (SJSU + SMC, SF State, and CSU East Bay) group photo below as well as SJSU's slideshow of the event.
In case you didn't get a chance to see some of the pictures from our Ocean Beach Bonfire outing in September here they are for your viewing pleasure. Plus a bonus video!
It's the moment you've all been waiting for! APASA Snow Trip pics with videos en route (ooh!) Sorry it took so long, you know how spring semester's been. We had a lot of fun, hitting the slopes, karaoke, watching Better Luck Tomorrow, Cranium, building snowmen, going to Quizno's (huh?), the casinos and messing around in the arcade there. Did I mention the weather was awesome? Lots of snow but nice and sunny while we were there. Ah what a winter wonderland.
Hey guys come to our last APASA outing of the semester. It's a trip out to Emeryville's Public Market where there's over 25 unique food retailers representing numerous ethnic flavors as well as a movie theater, Barnes and Noble and more shopping. Check it out at their website www.emerymarket.com as well as their shopping at the City of Emeryville's website.
This outing is in collaboration with the JPop Club. We'll be carpooling from the flagpole at 5pm this Wednesday, November 28th.Hope to see you there!
When:February 6-9 (Wednesday thru Friday of JanTerm Break)
Where: Cabin in South Lake Tahoe
Cost: $70 which covers transportation, lodging at a great cabin (just ask those who went last year), and food. A discount is available for those who are willing to help out with driving others up from campus and back.
We will start collecting money at our next meeting, which is Tuesday, November 27 at 6pm in Delphine.
For more information, call x3701 or e-mail the APASA Officer Team at apasa@stmarys-ca.edu
Also, priority for first choice of beds is based on who ever turns in the full amount of money first (starting on Tuesday). Ties will be decided by random drawing. So, for example, if "John Jacobs," "Sally Samson," and "Albert Andrews" turn in their money at the meeting this Tuesday they get the first three choices of sleeping arrangement and we will pick names out of a hat or something to determine which of those three goes first.
Hey APASA guess what? We're meeting two weeks in a row! Come to our general meetings on November 20th and November 27th (both Tuesdays) in Delphine from 6pm-7pm. On the 20th we'll even have a game night following the meeting with Mah Jong, karaoke, poker, Life and other board games. See you there!
